As part of the "Jail Arts Initiative" program organized by the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, I taught art workshops at two Mecklenburg County Jails. The art workshops were inspired by Joan Miro’s painting series called, "Ladder of Escape." We explored how participating incarcerated adults could relate to these artworks, given their own situations, while re-interpreting Miro in their own art.
